Extreme Networks is on a mission to make networking as flexible and “effortless” as possible — something that can only be achieved through the cloud, according to Extreme’s President and CEO Ed Meyercord.

As per President and Chief Revenue Officer at STEP CG, Robert Huff, Extreme’s concentration on cloud-based networking and advanced machine-learning functionality offer the company a competitive edge over the rest in the market, including Cisco Meraki.

Additionally, he mentioned, “We are seeing Extreme really leapfrogging Meraki at this point.”

STEP CG, a Covington, Kentucky-based MSP, has been ripping out Meraki solutions and substituting them with a combination of Extreme and other third-party solutions to offer an enhanced, comprehensive, and managed networking solution to end customers.

Robert Huff further explains how Extreme outperforms the competition in terms of investing in R and amp;D. Further, he mentions, “ I see a tremendous value in us delivering our managed services as powered by Extreme offering.” Additionally, it offers the company a potential opportunity to deal with competition in the Ubiquiti (Networks) genre and certainly, Meraki.

Based out of San Jose, California, Extreme focused on delivering an effortless approach to networking. The company recently introduced its universal platforms for its switching and wireless portfolios that offer agility and increases the validity of wired and wireless products.

Extreme’s take

Extreme looks forward to all its customers and partners to make the most of the cloud. To make this possible, vendors offer flexible options that ease business opportunities with Extreme. In both cases, whether the customer is moving to the cloud or sticking to on-premises, expressed Meyercord during the Extreme Connect Virtual 2020 event that took place on September 17, 2020.

The event also witnessed statements where Meyercord mentioned, “We want you to come with us, but we want you to move at your own speed. We are completely flexible and committed to supporting our software-driven solutions powered by Extreme Management Center — these aren’t going away.”

Post acquiring Aerohive Networks in August 2019, the company has invested a substantial amount in ExtremeCloud IQ (the cloud management platform). This cloud platform offers lucrative opportunities for partners to drive effortless and comprehensive networking with increased visibility for end customers.
